About the Role:

We're recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a leading heavy industrial manufacturer at their busy site in Whittlesey, Peterborough. This is a permanent nights role working on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, offering stability, challenge, and excellent pay.

You'll be responsible for keeping critical machinery running in a demanding, high-volume environment - reacting quickly to breakdowns and performing preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance across heavy plant machinery

   

• Fault-finding and repair of conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and PLCs

   

• Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives

   

• Responding to breakdowns swiftly to keep production on track

   

• Working closely with production and engineering teams to ensure minimal disruption

   

• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and ensuring compliance with health & safety

   

What We're Looking For:

• Time-served or formally qualified engineer (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)

   

• Multi-skilled background - electrical or mechanical bias considered

   

• Experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, aggregates, cement, or similar

   

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills under pressure

   

• Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment on nights

   

• Team player with a proactive approach to maintenance
