Job Role of the Maintenance Team Leader
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Team Leader to join a large, heavy industrial manufacturing site. This is a hands-on leadership role within a high-performing engineering department, responsible for driving maintenance standards, improving reliability, and leading a team of engineers in a demanding industrial environment.
You will lead from the front, ensuring all planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive, and breakdown activities are carried out efficiently to maximise plant uptime and operational performance. This role requires strong technical ability combined with the confidence to manage, motivate, and develop a team on shift.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Maintenance Team Leader
- Proven maintenance experience within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading or supervising a team of engineers on shift.
- Strong background in reactive and planned maintenance within a fast-paced factory.
Essential Requirements for the Maintenance Team Leader
- Hands-on electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding experience.
- Recognised engineering qualification (Electrical or Mechanical).
- Experience managing PPM schedules and driving continuous improvement.
- Ability to work a rotating 4 on 4 off days and nights shift pattern.
- Strong understanding of health & safety regulations within industrial environments.
Desirable Requirements for the Maintenance Team Leader
- Experience working within heavy industry (e.g. aggregates, recycling, steel, power, processing), but would consider others!
- Experience working as a Maintenance Team Leader in the UK.
- Continuous improvement or reliability project experience.
