Job Title – Night Shift Weighbridge Operative (18 Month FTC)
Location – Belvedere, Kent
Salary – £31,919 + Overtime (OTE £40,000)
Shift – Monday to Friday 18:30 – 06:30 (One Week On / One Week Off)
Job Role of the Night Shift Weighbridge Operative
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Night Shift Weighbridge Operative to join a market-leading Energy from Waste facility operated by Cory Riverside Energy Group. This is a unique chance to work at one of the UK’s largest and most advanced EfW plants, playing a key role in supporting London’s circular economy.
The Riverside facility processes up to 850,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste per year, generating enough electricity to power approximately 195,000 homes. By transporting waste via the River Thames, the company removes around 100,000 lorry movements from London’s roads annually, contributing significantly to sustainability and environmental efficiency.
With a second EfW plant going live nearby in Q3, this is an exciting time to join the business. This position is an 18-month Fixed Term Contract, with strong potential to become permanent.

Job Role Responsibilities
As the Night Shift Weighbridge Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and compliant running of the site.
Typical duties will include:
- 30-minute structured shift handover
- Operating the weighbridge and associated systems
- Managing vehicle movements on and off site
- Communicating with drivers via intercom
- Liaising with the tipping hall and site operations team
- Monitoring CCTV and maintaining site security
- Scheduling shutdowns and organising contractor inductions
- Recording waste input tickets and maintaining accurate documentation
- Managing deliveries and consumables records
- Overseeing site access control and issuing access cards
- Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
You will be responsible for the end-to-end process of waste movements, ensuring accurate recording and maintaining full site compliance at all times.
Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to support additional hours or weekend work when needed. Night shift overtime is paid at x1.5.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
- Experience working within a warehouse or manufacturing environment
Requirements for the Role
- IT Literate
- WMS(Warehouse Management Systems) experience
Desirable Experience
- Previous weighbridge experience
- Background in recycling, landfill, or hazardous waste
- Experience within industrial or heavy site environments
