Maintenance Engineer Vacancy (Mechanical)

£30,000 – £37,000 + Benefits | Sunday to Thursday, 7am–3pm | Manchester

This role is ideal for a junior-to-mid level Mechanical Engineer or Maintenance Engineer who wants to build their skill set, gain hands-on experience, and progress into a more senior role over time.

We are working with a well-established manufacturer in Manchester seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support a modern production facility. The business is known for developing engineers internally and offering clear long-term career pathways.

The Role

Working within a manufacturing environment, you’ll support both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Mechanical Maintenance, helping to ensure equipment and machinery operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out mechanical PPMs on production and manufacturing equipment

  • Assisting with mechanical breakdowns and fault-finding

  • Working on components such as bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, pumps, and conveyors

  • Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects

  • Working closely with senior engineers to develop technical capability

This is a Sunday to Thursday, 7am–3pm shift, offering consistent hours and work–life balance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Mechanical Engineer or Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical bias)

  • Some experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial environments (training provided)

  • Will suit someone looking to learn, develop, and progress

  • Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
