FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

Location: UK Wide (Field Based) - Mostly 50 miles from Somerset

Salary: £40,000 - £46,000 (DOE)

Shift: Monday - Friday Days

Job Role of the Field Service Engineer

A well-established manufacturing business is currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to support customers across the UK. This is a structured, field-based role working within a specialist product environment, attending both domestic and commercial sites to resolve issues and carry out repairs.

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and ensuring a high standard of customer service at all times. You will be working on installed products, carrying out adjustments, component replacements, and general fault finding to ensure systems are operating correctly.

The role offers a high level of autonomy, allowing engineers to manage their own schedules and plan travel efficiently, grouping jobs where possible and working in a structured, non-reactive environment.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Field Service Engineer

• Experience working with tools, installation, or maintenance
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Comfortable with travel and occasional overnight stays

Requirements of the Field Service Engineer

• Experience in a field service, installation, or maintenance role
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs on site
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
• Good organisation and time management
• Ability to complete job reports and documentation accurately
• Proactive approach to work planning and scheduling

Desirable Requirements of the Field Service Engineer

• Experience within windows, doors, or glazing (fenestration)
• Joinery / carpentry background
• Previous experience in a mobile engineering role
