MULTI-SKILLED MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

Location: Middlesbrough

Salary: £42,000 - £50,000 (DOE)

Shift: 4 on 3 off (Sunday cover required - Flexible Hours Between 06:00 - 19:00)

Job Role of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

A well-established food manufacturing business is currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their site in Middlesbrough. The facility is modern, with relatively new machinery and a high-volume production output supplying into multiple sectors.

The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for reactive maintenance across production equipment, alongside small installations and general site maintenance. The role is not heavily PPM-driven, so requires a proactive engineer who is comfortable fault finding and responding quickly to breakdowns.

You will be working across a range of semi-automated production lines and supporting equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and consistent performance across the site.

Sector - Factory Maintenance

Food manufacturing environment operating at high volume with semi-automated production lines and fast-paced processes.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Multi-Skilled Engineering Experience
• Engineering Qualification 
• Manufacturing background
• PLC understanding (inputs/outputs)
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings

Requirements of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Strong electrical fault finding (3-phase, motors, sensors, inverters)
• Ability to wire and test motors
• Mechanical maintenance skills (bearings, belts, chains, pneumatics)
• Experience working on production machinery
• Ability to carry out reactive maintenance and small installations
• Comfortable supporting basic facilities work when required

Desirable Requirements of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Electrical bias
• Food / FMCG background
• 18th Edition
