Location: Wirral
Shift: Monday – Thursday, 10:00pm – 8:00am
(3-day weekend every week)

Job Role of the Multi Skilled Nights Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated manufacturing site operating within a fast-paced production environment. The business has invested heavily into its equipment and engineering function, creating an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking for a long-term contract role with the potential for permanent opportunities at the end of the contract.

This is a mechanically biased position (80/20 split) focused mainly on maintaining and improving a key production line. The successful engineer will be responsible for reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement work across site machinery.

The Multi Skilled Nights Engineer will be responsible for:

• Mechanical maintenance and repairs on conveyors, pumps, bearings, chains, belts, and rotary machinery
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults and breakdowns
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
• Pneumatic maintenance including valves, cylinders, and airlines
• Equipment strip-downs, rebuilds, and overhauls
• Basic electrical fault finding on motors, drives, sensors, and control systems
• Supporting production to maximise machinery uptime and reliability

Sector – Factory Maintenance

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Multi Skilled Nights Engineer

• Multi-skilled maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
• NVQ Level 3 or time-served engineering qualification

Desirable Requirements of the Multi Skilled Nights Engineer

• FMCG, bottling, aerosol, or packaging background
• ATEX experience or qualification advantageous
• Previous UK manufacturing experience preferred
