Location: Flint, Flintshire 
Salary: £34,000 
Shifts: Rotating 3-shift pattern, 37.5 hours per week

A leading UK-based contract manufacturer specialising in plastic and composite components is expanding its technical team due to increasing industry demand. Working across sectors including automotive, aerospace, medical, construction, electrical, and retail, this organisation invests heavily in modern equipment, automation, and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Extrusion Setter looking to join a forward-thinking manufacturing environment with strong investment in training, technology, and employee development.

Key Responsibilities

• Set, condition, and optimise multiple extrusion machines

• Ensure correct machine start-up, restart, and shutdown procedures

• Maintain safe working practices in line with HSE policies

• Carry out fault finding and problem solving across production and development

• Perform tool changes, hopper cleaning, and material preparation

• Maintain machine cleanliness following 5S standards

• Support production training and first-off samples with the Team Leader

• Carry out hands-on production duties including running machines and packing

• Record production data using paper and cloud-based systems

• Complete shift handovers to the next setter

• Conduct daily machine safety checks and report faults

• Ensure SOPs and production documentation are issued correctly

• Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives

Personal Specification

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Extrusion Setter (essential)

• Plastics extrusion qualification (desirable, not essential)

Shift Pattern

Monday – Thursday (Rotating):

• 06:00 – 14:00

• 14:00 – 22:00

• 22:00 – 06:00
  (Paid 30-minute break)

Friday (Rotating):

• 06:00 – 11:00

• 11:00 – 16:00

• 16:00 – 21:00
  (No break)
