Job Title – Senior Engineer
Location – Leigh, Greater Manchester
Salary – £49,500
Shift – Rotating shifts (Monday–Friday, 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm)

Job Role of the Senior Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer to join a leading bakery ingredients manufacturer operating within a major international food group. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced multi-skilled engineer who is looking to step into a leadership role while still remaining hands-on within a fast-paced production environment.

You will be reporting into the Operations Manager and will have responsibility for leading a small engineering team consisting of one engineer and one fabricator. The role is approximately 60% supervisory/leadership and 40% hands-on engineering, although this may vary depending on business needs.

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running and reliability of 9 production lines, supporting both planned and reactive maintenance activities across a busy, automated manufacturing facility.

Key Machinery Includes

• Industrial mixers and blending systems
• Heat sealers and packaging equipment
• Carton packing and case handling systems
• Check weighers and metal detectors
• Conveyors and transfer systems
• Storage silos and ingredient handling systems

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Senior Engineer

• Proven experience in a senior, lead or team leader engineering role
• Strong multi-skilled engineering background 
• Experience within food, pharma, or process manufacturing environments
