Shift: 4 on 4 off (2 Days / 2 Nights) | 7:00am - 7:00pm / 7:00pm - 7:00am

Job Role of the Shift Maintenance Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a growing FMCG manufacturer in the Wrexham area. You'll be joining an established engineering team responsible for keeping a busy production facility running efficiently, carrying out both planned maintenance and reactive fault finding across a wide range of automated machinery.

The role offers plenty of variety, from responding to breakdowns and identifying root causes through to supporting equipment improvements and wider engineering projects. This would suit a genuinely multi-skilled engineer who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems and working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Sector - FMCG Manufacturing

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Shift Maintenance Engineer

• NVQ Level 3 Engineering qualification (or equivalent).
• Multi-Skilled Maintenance experience.
• Previous manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability.

Requirements for the Shift Maintenance Engineer

• Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Reactive breakdown maintenance.
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding.
• Reading electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
• Basic PLC I/O understanding.
• Motors, drives, gearboxes and transmission systems.
• Bearings, brakes and closed-loop feedback systems.
• Continuous Improvement.
• Root Cause Analysis.
• CMMS experience.
• Health & Safety awareness.

Desirable Requirements for the Shift Maintenance Engineer

• Food or FMCG manufacturing experience.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• SCADA or machine control systems.
• Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
• Fabrication or welding experience.
• MEWP licence.
• Health & Safety qualification.

The Shift Maintenance Engineer will benefit from:

• Salary up to £49,000.
• 4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 Days / 2 Nights).
• 20 days annual leave (Bank Holidays taken from annual leave, excluding Christmas Day and New Year's Day).
• Ongoing technical training and development.
• Involvement in Continuous Improvement and engineering projects.
