Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Shift: Days – Monday to Friday

The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing industrial business based in North Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a Monday to Friday days-based position, offering a salary of up to £50,000, alongside excellent opportunities for technical development and long-term career progression.

Working within a fast-paced industrial environment, you will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of automated production machinery and equipment. The role will involve a combination of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, electrical and mechanical fault finding, breakdown response and continuous improvement.

The successful engineer will be genuinely multi-skilled, with the confidence and ability to work across both electrical and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and site equipment.

• Respond quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns to minimise production downtime.

• Conduct both electrical and mechanical fault finding, maintenance and repairs.

• Diagnose faults across automated production machinery and control systems.

• Maintain equipment including motors, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, drives, sensors, pumps and pneumatic systems.

• Carry out electrical fault finding across motors, sensors, control panels and associated equipment.

• Identify recurring equipment faults and support root cause analysis.

• Complete mechanical repairs and component replacements.

• Support machinery installations, modifications and engineering improvement projects.

• Work closely with production teams to maximise machinery availability and reliability.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

• Carry out routine machinery inspections to identify potential failures before breakdowns occur.

• Ensure all engineering work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.

• Accurately complete maintenance documentation and engineering records.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer or similar.

• Strong electrical AND mechanical maintenance skills.

• Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.

• Strong machinery breakdown and fault-finding experience.

• Previous experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, processing, production or industrial environment.

• Recognised engineering qualification – Electrical, Mechanical, Multi-Skilled or equivalent.

• Ability to work independently and effectively within a fast-paced production environment.

Desirable Experience

• PLC fault-finding experience.

• Experience working with automated production machinery.

• Experience maintaining motors, drives, sensors, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps and pneumatic systems.

• Experience carrying out root cause analysis and machinery reliability improvements.

• Previous involvement with continuous improvement or engineering projects.
