Electrical Automation Engineer

Salary: £55,000 + Overtime (£1,000–£2,000 on top) + Pension

Location: Trentham
Shifts: 4 on 4 off days and nights

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer to join one of the UK’s most advanced automated distribution centres. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT OPPURTUNITY FOR SOMEONE INTERESTED IN MOVING INTO A SPECIALIST PLC & CONTROLS ROLE as this is a multi-skilled role with a strong focus on PLC, Software, and controls fault management. You will act as the go-to technical specialist for the shift team and will be heavily focused on PLC, Software and controls. You will be working on Siemens S7, Ladder Logic, Inverter drives, Profibus, Profinet etc. You will also get involved with routine mechanical and electrical maintenance work but will mostly working on the PLC and controls issues and improvements. This is a great oppurtunity for someone looking to become a dedicated controls engineer in the future as this is the perfect stepping stone to get you there. THIS ROLE IS A MULTI SKILLED MAINTENANCE ENGINEER AS WELL AS BEING THE POINT OF CONTACT FOR ALL PLC ISSUES. This is a high level role within an extremely reputable company that can offer unlimited progression through several different department routes 

Sector – Factory Maintenance and Controls

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Electrical Automation Engineer

  • Multi-skilled maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Be able to interegate and modify on PLC programmes as a minimum
  • HNC qualified


Requirements for the Electrical Automation Engineer.

  • Electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience.
  • Engineering qualification (Electrical or Mechanical or controls) HNC level
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.


Requirements for the Electrical Automation Engineer.

  • Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in the UK.
  • Experience with working on PLC’s, ideally Siemens S7
