Salary: £46,000 - £54,000
Shift: 4 on 4 off days, 2 weeks of nights Monday–Thursday 6pm–6am, followed by 5 days off

Job Role of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

This is a great opportunity for an engineer to join a leading food manufacturing business operating from a 25,000 sq. ft. bakery producing a wide range of bakery products for major UK retailers.

The successful Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer will be working as part of a skilled engineering team, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and breakdown fault-finding across a range of automated production machinery.

The site has a mixture of electrical and mechanical equipment, including mixers, hoppers, depositors, conveyors, ovens, automated sleeving machines, labellers, flow-wrap machines, refrigeration, effluent plant and site services.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to develop their career both technically and potentially into management. The successful candidate could progress towards a future hands-on Engineering Manager position.

You will be responsible for carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, repairs and planned preventative maintenance, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency across the site.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Multi-skilled maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.

• Hands-on experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast-paced factory.

• Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience.

• Experience working with industrial machinery and automated production equipment.

• Recognised Level 3 engineering qualification.

Desirable Requirements for the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in the UK.

• Previous experience within the food manufacturing or bakery sector.

• PLC and control systems experience.

• Experience working on automated production machinery.

• Experience across a broad range of the machinery listed above.

• Previous experience in a hands-on senior engineering role.
