Actively manage, develop and promote best practice Safety, Health and Welfare within the team to achieve compliance with statutory legislation, company safety protocols and best demonstrated practice.
Promote the company's environmental policy, ensuring compliance with current legislation and ISO 14001 standards across work activities within the site.
Comply with all statutory legislation associated with managing the operations at Furzebrook, including, but not limited to, equipment design and modifications.
Upkeep and maintain a wide range of process plant including packaging, drying, milling, conveying, mixing, blowing and pumping equipment in a safe and environmentally compliant condition.
Complete all engineering work to facilitate production of the budgeted tonnes.
Oversee maintenance of LGV/ LGV Fleet. Management of the site stores ensuring that key consumables are available to fulfill engineering requirements whilst closely controlling the total stock value.
Paying particular attention to milling consumables with long lead time. To raise purchase orders as necessary ensuring deliveries are GR'd in a timely manner.
Supervision and leadership of all engineering and maintenance personnel at site.
Building and leading successful work-teams, coaching and organising all trades persons in high standards of quality, accountability and maintenance.
Follow all written terms & conditions of employment for personnel. Communicating fully and openly with all personnel, to ensure that effective working relationships are developed and maintained.
Work closely with all relevant sections to ensure that all customer needs are satisfied.
Efficiently manage engineering maintenance inventory. Effective maintenance planning and implementation.
Understanding both immediate production and customer requirements.
Communicate clearly to all relevant sections, when if it is identified that a customer's (internal or external) requirement may not be met.
Manage both internal resources and Contractors to plan appropriate repair, service and preventive maintenance schedules.
Carry out engineering maintenance work to give maximum life cycle cost. Identify further opportunity for rationalisation of process operations and potential cost reductions.
Innovative thinking with consideration given to all opportunities to improve any aspects of the operation.
Ensure that all personnel are trained and competent in the maintenance of the equipment used at site. Assist in identifying training and development needs of all employees under direct control and supervision.
Organise and plan the delivery of the identified training. Participate in the development of new products and technologies within the site to assist the site team to grow and maintain the sales.
Attending management meetings, reporting on any relevant maintenance or engineering issues and responding on any action items in a timely manner.
Produce and distribute engineering reports as requested by the Site Manager.
Ensure that up to date and accurate documentation and records are kept. Represent IMERYS with suppliers and customers, when required.
