Job Role – Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned, preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance across a range of automated production machinery. You will play a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, minimising downtime and ensuring production runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across automated production machinery.

• Respond to mechanical breakdowns and carry out effective fault-finding.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.

• Complete reactive and planned mechanical maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Work proactively to identify potential equipment failures and improve machine reliability.

• Carry out mechanical repairs, servicing and adjustments across a range of production equipment.

• Support continuous improvement and engineering projects across the site.

• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• Previous mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

• Strong hands-on mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience.

• Experience carrying out planned, preventative, reactive and breakdown maintenance.

• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment.

• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and practical problem-solving skills.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience working as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Technician within the UK manufacturing sector.

• Experience working with automated production machinery.

• Experience with bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, pneumatics and other mechanical systems.

• Experience working within a high-volume or fast-paced manufacturing environment.
