Job Role of the Shift Production Supervisor

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shift Production Supervisor to join a well-established and successful manufacturing business based in Halifax.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Production Supervisor looking to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you will play a key role in driving production performance, quality, safety and efficiency.

You will be responsible for leading production teams across multiple manufacturing areas, providing clear direction to Production Operatives, allocating workloads, monitoring performance and ensuring production targets are consistently achieved.

This is a visible, hands-on leadership role where you will be expected to respond quickly to production, quality, staffing and equipment issues while maintaining a safe, organised and productive working environment.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Shift Production Supervisor

• Previous Production experience within a manufacturing environment.

• Previous Supervisory or Team Leader experience within a manufacturing/production setting.

• Strong manufacturing background with a good understanding of production processes and targets.

• Happy to work a shift-based pattern.

• Must be happy working days-based shifts – no nights.

Requirements for the Shift Production Supervisor

• Experience leading and managing production operatives.

• Strong understanding of production targets, quality standards and health & safety.

• Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to production issues.

• Comfortable working in a hands-on production environment.

• Experience with production documentation, KPIs and shift handovers.

• Ability to work closely with Engineering, Quality, Warehouse and Management teams.

Desirable Requirements for the Shift Production Supervisor

• Experience within a manufacturing environment with multiple production processes.

• Experience managing teams across multiple production areas.

• Knowledge of 5S and continuous improvement.

• Experience with SOPs, audits and production performance monitoring.

• Knowledge of OEE or other production KPIs.
