Job Role – Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established manufacturing business in Mansfield.

This is an ideal opportunity for a technically strong engineer with a multi-skilled manufacturing background who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving and improving equipment reliability.

The successful candidate will carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs across a range of production machinery. Working closely with production and engineering colleagues, you will help maximise equipment availability, minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• Multi-skilled maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum Level 3 Engineering qualification or equivalent.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Hands-on experience maintaining manufacturing machinery and production equipment.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs.

Candidates who do not meet these essential requirements will not be considered.

Requirements

• Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to diagnose faults and repair production machinery efficiently.
• Experience with motors, sensors, drives, gearboxes, conveyors and other industrial equipment.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance and equipment reliability.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify recurring faults and implement corrective actions.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Good communication skills and a team-focused approach.
• Flexibility to work a days and nights shift pattern.

Desirable Experience

• FMCG, food, packaging or high-speed manufacturing experience.
• PLC fault-finding and automated machinery.
• Variable frequency drives and industrial control systems.
• Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement.
• Equipment upgrades and reliability improvement projects.
