The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Electrically Biased Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for a Monday to Friday, days-only position, offering an excellent work-life balance with no night shifts and no weekend working.

Working within a fast-paced production environment, you will be responsible for ensuring maximum machinery reliability and plant performance through a combination of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, electrical and mechanical fault finding, breakdown response and continuous improvement.

The successful engineer will have a strong electrical background while also being comfortable carrying out mechanical maintenance and repairs across production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and site equipment.

• Respond quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns to minimise production downtime.

• Conduct electrical fault finding, maintenance and repairs across production equipment.

• Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs as required.

• Diagnose faults across motors, drives, sensors, control panels and automated equipment.

• Fault find on PLC-controlled machinery, including inputs and outputs.

• Maintain equipment including conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, pumps and pneumatic systems.

• Carry out component replacements and machinery repairs.

• Identify recurring faults and support root cause analysis.

• Work closely with production teams to improve machinery reliability and availability.

• Support machinery installations, modifications and engineering improvement projects.

• Contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

• Ensure all engineering activities are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.

• Accurately complete engineering and maintenance documentation.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar.

• Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding skills.

• Mechanical maintenance experience and the ability to work across both disciplines.

• Experience carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.

• Previous experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, processing, production or industrial environment.

• Recognised engineering qualification – Electrical, Multi-Skilled or equivalent.

• Ability to diagnose machinery breakdowns and work effectively within a fast-paced production environment.

Desirable Experience

• PLC fault-finding experience, including inputs and outputs.

• Experience working with automated production machinery.

• Experience maintaining motors, drives, sensors, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps and pneumatic systems.

• Experience with electrical control panels and industrial electrical systems.

• Continuous improvement and machinery reliability experience.
