Location: Wirral, Merseyside
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per year + bonus, holiday allowance, and company vehicle
Shift: Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (37.5 hours/week)
Job Role of the Packaging Technologist
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled Packaging Technologist to join a leading, innovative food business. This is a perfect role for anyone passionate about sustainable packaging solutions, product innovation, and working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
You will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of innovative, sustainable packaging solutions, coordinating day-to-day packaging activities, validating designs through testing and factory trials, managing packaging assets, and collaborating cross-functionally with NPD, operations, technical, and supply chain teams to ensure quality, compliance, and efficiency.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Packaging Technologist

Experience in a technologist role within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment.
Requirements for the Packaging Technologist

Hands-on experience managing packaging development from concept through to production.

Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).

Knowledge of print processes, colour management technologies, and the packaging origination process.

Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Desirable Requirements for the Packaging Technologist

Experience driving sustainable or recyclable packaging initiatives.

Previous involvement in NPD (New Product Development) packaging projects.
