Refrigeration Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
Location: North Littleton
About Us: A chance has come available to join a leading food manufacturing plant dedicated to delivering top-quality products. Our state-of-the-art facility relies on efficient and reliable refrigeration systems to maintain our high standards. We are now looking for a skilled and motivated Refrigeration Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of these critical systems. The company are going through a period of growth so there are also progression opportunities available. This is an opportunity not to be missed by any aspiring Refrigeration Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on refrigeration systems, including chillers, freezers, and cooling units.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to implement preventive maintenance schedules and upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and any issues encountered.
- Ensure adherence to all environmental and safety regulations regarding refrigeration gases and equipment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Refrigeration Engineer, ideally within a food manufacturing environment.
- Relevant qualifications in refrigeration engineering (F-Gas certification, NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, including both electrical and mechanical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to continuous improvement.
