Graduate Software Engineer - Formula 1

Salary: Negotiable

Location: Buckinghamshire

Pioneer Selection are currently working alongside a Formula 1 Engine Supplier who are looking to offer a Computer Science Graduate a fantastic opportunity to enter the world of Formula 1. This role is a 6-month fixed term contract that will give an insight into software development within Formula 1. Although this is a 6-month fixed contract, there is an opportunity for this to turn into a long-term permanent opportunity.

The team will offer a very good graduate salary to get the right individual on board. You may also have the opportunity to participate at Race control during the race weekends depending on your project involvement. As a Graduate Software Engineer you will be learning from some of the most talented software Engineers within Formula 1.

Day to Day responsibilities:

  • Requirements analysis and system specification.
  • Software and digital communications architecture.
  • Modelling and simulation of battery control systems.
  • Software reliability and fault tolerant design.
  • Software validation and testing.
  • Software development process, documentation and releasing.
  • Tools supporting development and testing.
  • Fault diagnosis and factory-based support of trackside activities.
  • Development of bespoke software for test equipment and experiments.
  • Reporting of results in a clear, concise and structured manner.
  • Any other tasks as reasonably required by the Company.

What you will need:

  • Good knowledge of Debugging software written by Senior engineers.
  • Experience in C, C#
  • Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink.
  • An eagerness to grow and learn with the projects.
  • Knowledge of battery and high voltage systems would be beneficial.
